Collection: Naranche Stadium Butte High School, Butte Montana

Naranche Stadium

The original Butte High football stadium was completed in 1938, and renamed in 1943 in honor of Eso Naranche, a former Grizzly & Butte High football star killed during WW2.

The stadium closed in 1974 for safety reasons. Naranche was rebuilt and reopened in 2011.

This Time Travel image shows a 1940 Bobcat-Grizzly game layered with the Butte High vs. Helena Capital game on Oct. 24th, 2025. The Bulldogs defeated Helena 17-0.
