Collection: Copper Street Stroll - Butte Montana
Sometimes I wonder how legally Idaho Street can exist at the grade/steepness it is at!
What you're viewing is Copper Street, however at right is where you have to actually walk up a flight of metal stairs to go from the Eastbound lane of traffic to the Westbound lane.
I have always loved this historic photo (created by William H. Rau, 1905, Library of Congress).
There was still a bit of this wooden sidewalk left on Copper Street until recently (I believe last year, could have been the year before). It sadly was torn up.
